Greg Reinacker, CEO of NewsGator is having a contest on his blog to rename his company and his product, a popular RSS newsreader called NewsGator. He is offering a worthy prize.
So...I'd like to solicit some ideas from you. And what's in it for you? If we choose a name that you submitted to us first, we'll send you a brand-new Windows Media Center computer, and a free 12-month "Plus" subscription to NewsGator Online Services including NewsGator Media Center edition. All told, somewhere around a $1500 prize. I'd post a specific link to a machine, but if we can, we'll wait for the Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 launch, so you get the latest and greatest.
As Steve Rubel puts it Who needs a focus group when you have a blog?
A french entrepreneur is also gathering his customers point of view to create new products. He is selling T-Shirt on internet (http://www.lafraise.com/boutique/tshirts.cfm) and asks his clients about their thoughts or ideas to print new design on the T-Shirt. Then, each client has to send back a photography when wearing the T-Shirt. He is using a blog (http://lafraise.typepad.com/blog/)to support his e-commerce website, and both are working very efficiently together. He is very popular in France, he is also the first one to succeed in such an enterprise and many are keeping an eye on this new way of developing business thanks to the close relationship the CEO is managing with his customers thanks to his blog. Personaly, I definitely believe in this kind of modele.
