In a previous post I've been talking about the opportunity weblogs gives PR Pro, to provide a fantastic tool for journalists.
The idea was to improve the traditional online press rooms and to initiate a new collaborative tool between journalists and PR consultancies, bringing much more added value to everyone.
I call those tools "PressBlog".
For three weeks now, I've been launching PressBlogs for two of my clients, one for Dantz Development Europe, a backup software company, and the other one for Six Apart, the company at the origin of TypePad and Movable Type as you certainly know...
As we are at the very begining with the use of these new" interactive online press rooms", it is still difficult to say if journalist really understood the added value of RSS feeds available there and the ability they have to react directly below a press release by leaving a comment to ask for more information or for an interveiw etc....what ever we can imagine. The situation is that the awareness around blog is at it's very begining in France and that mainly only IT journalists really know blogs and RSS, so perhaps we came a little bit too early with it.
Anyway, I think blogs are also fantastic collaborative tools and that's why we've been using them as a kind of platforme dedicated to the press. I can't unfortunately leave here the URL address of those two sample, although I'd love to share it with you but not everyone is abble to sometimes just watch and not "touch", so unfortunately I can't get this risk with some of my clients. But I'll be happy to give the URL specifically to those who'll request it by email (gdugardier@prplanet.net) and with the engagement to respect these weblogs used on a daily professionnal basis, as I am sure there would be new ideas to share on this use of blogs.
Guillaume, am trying to send you email but it continues to return as undeliverable.

That's an interesting development, Guillaume, which is a great way to further develop relationships between PR and the media. A good European initiative!
