David Sifry has posted his Technorati's "State of the Blogosphere": at the end of July, Technorati was tracking over 14.2 Million weblogs and over 1.3 billion links.
This means the blogosphere has just about doubled again in the past 5 months !
Summary:
- Technorati was tracking over 14.2 Million weblogs, and over 1.3 billion links in July 2005
- The blogosphere continues to double about every 5.5 months
- A new blog is created about every second, there are over 80,000 created daily
- About 55% of all blogs are active, and that has remained a consistent statistic for at least a year
- About 13% of all blogs are updated at least weekly

Arkan, this is 80 000 blogs per day, not 800 000 which would be indeed a little crapy... More over, I am not in a position to contest Technorati's stats, I don't have any tools to make my owns stats on the blogosphere, but if you have some other sources with other results, please share them with me.
If you have a look at BlogPulse (http://www.blogpulse.com/), you'll see that they announce 23 108 new blogs in the 24 last hours.... Ok, this is 4 times less than Technorati, but do they have the same basis ...? This is still huge anyway.

Do you really believe those statistics?
800,000 blogs per day? That's total crap.
