Google Reader has been launched

Google just launched it's RSS reader at the Web 2.0 conference, Google Reader, that you can use if you have a Google account. I've just try it, although I don't fancy online RSS readers, seems that it has some original features: you can upload your subscription list from other readers, mail or blog items you're reading with a click, play your podcasts with a built-in player ...
You can also classify your feeds by "label" or star your favorites. I am going to give it a deeper try in the next days...

Wifi hotspot love RSS !

I've been testing it already several times in Paris and again just now, amazingly when you're working in a space covered by a wifi network, say in any public place as airport, hotel etc..., it's usually possible to refresh your RSS feeds even if you don't connect yourself to the network.... !
Seems like wifi hotspots securisation "don't see" RSS readers uploading the feeds, so another good reason to have a RSS reader... ;o)

I was expecting to work and get a 30 min. connection pass while waiting for a meeting, unfortunately (or one more time) my provider is temporary unavailable (shame on you SFR...), so I launched my RSS reader ( I am using NetNewsWire by the way...) and it's working ! I can read all my favorites blogs !

Found this survey (via Rmen's blog) The Business Case for RSS, written by Rok Hrastnik ofMarketingStudies.net and sponsored by FeedForAll.com.

I also discovered Nooked has a full new website (shame on me, I should use less RSS reader...) providing there lots of informations on RSS and services as the RSS directory, and also a FeedWizard for PR and marketing pros to create and manage their own RSS feeds. It seems like Nooked also launched it's Partner programmes. Fergus, you've done a huge work !
